Connect Codex
Use a workspace API key to make Ghostmotion’s tools available in Codex.
1. Create and save your key
Create an API key with read and write permissions. In your terminal, replace the placeholder below with the key. For production automation, use your environment’s secret manager.
export GHOSTMOTION_API_KEY='YOUR_API_KEY'2. Add the server
codex mcp add ghostmotion \
--url https://app.ghostmotion.ai/mcp \
--bearer-token-env-var GHOSTMOTION_API_KEYCodex reads the bearer token from the named environment variable when it connects. Start Codex from the same terminal environment. If it was already running, restart it after adding the server.
3. Check the tools
codex mcp listOpen Codex and ask it to list your Ghostmotion projects. If authentication fails, check that GHOSTMOTION_API_KEY is available to the running client and that the key is active. Do not paste a key into chat.
4. Make and edit a video
Ask for a video using Ghostmotion. After the tool returns a run ID, ask the assistant to check progress and return the result. Read the MCP workflow guide and tool reference for the full flow.
